Hughson centennial plaza
Hughson, California
At the junction of two of the few main arterials in town, a site was chosen to create a small plaza that included a bronze sculpture, time capsule and donor brick wall in celebration of the City’s 100th birthday.
Individual bricks were sold to support the purchase of the sculpture,
and each brick has the donor’s name inscribed on the surface. The bronze sculpture was designed by California artist Betty Saletta, recognizing the role agriculture has played throughout the City’s history.
This project received a Design Excellence Award from the AIA.
cost: $132,945 h
